Hospitality Industry Veteran Gervasio Barroso joins Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, September 6, 2017 / — ALPFA, the Association of Latino Professionals For America, the largest membership-based organization serving Latino professionals, and students announced today that New York City based Gervasio (Vasi) Barroso has joined as Executive Director New York Chapter and VP for Strategic Partnerships.

Vasi’s dual role will include expanding the impact and influence of the New York professional and student chapters, and driving new partnerships to help fund ALPFA’s programs. He will bring his senior leadership roles with world-class hotels such as The Ritz Carlton Hotels and Lottte New York Palace, known for their high levels of customer service to influence all aspects of ALPFA’s operations.

Vasi has focused his career in obtaining business and servicing high-level clients, including CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, Royal Houses and Heads of Government, such as Michael Bloomberg, Roberto Setubal, President Clinton, President Obama, President Benjamin Netanyahu, The Queen of Jordan The King of Bahrain and The King of Spain. Vasi will help drive a new era of growth for ALPFA’s 81,000+ members assembled in 44 professional and 160 student chapters across America.

ALPFA New York is the largest chapter nationally with over 8,000 members and 16 college chapters. Corporate partners include BNY Mellon, EY, Bank of America, HBO, JP Morgan Chase, among others.

The New York Chapter recently spearheaded a new organization structure which has a Senior Leadership Council (SLC) consisting of 15 top Latino Executives and leaders from companies and organizations in New York City, and an Advisory Board of Fortune 500 CEOs or their equivalents in the non-profit sector, such as Alan Colberg, CEO of Assurant, and Sylvia Acevedo, CEO of The Girl Scouts USA.
