Last Call for Grant Applications to Support Local Youth!
Oct. 29, 2026
Oswego County Department of Social Services’ Mental Hygiene Division reminds organizations that this is the final week to submit grant proposals for youth-centered activities.
Proposals must serve youth (newborn to age 21) through activities planned to take place now through March 31, 2027, and located anywhere within Oswego County. Applicants may request up to $5,000 in grant funding.
Not-for-profit community or religious organizations, schools, libraries and local municipalities are welcome to apply. All applicants must have a tax identification number and one applicant may submit more than one proposal, using separate application forms.
Projects must have measurable goals and make the impact of their proposal clear. Ideas include promoting youth safety, health and wellness; social development and family connections; school engagement and attendance; behavioral or substance treatment services; exploration of career opportunities or the development of independent living skills.
Grant funds cannot be used for religious or political initiatives, capital improvement projects, donations or fund-raising activities, or to cover staff wages or administrative costs.
Project invoices must be submitted by Dec. 15 of this year; however, project leaders have until March 31, 2027, to spend the award. A report on project expenses and impact must be submitted by April 30, 2027.
The grant program is administered by Oswego County government with funding provided by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
